Every year my brother-in-law bakes something divine on Christmas morning. Sometimes it’s a sticky bun, sometimes it’s a biscuit—but no matter what, it’s always delicious. Lately David’s baked goods have (almost) been outshining my mom’s beloved annual breakfast dish. I feel the same excitement I have for David’s baked creations when I come to Colossal Café. Chunky scones and fat cookies, the homemade biscuits used for the egg sandwiches, the famous flips. All the flour-based edibles in this small, skinny café are a big fat success. Colossal, if you will.
